Advantages for the environment:
- The raw materials used for our trays are sustainable. They come mostly from the forests in northern Europe, the most pristine place on earth. There, forests are managed responsibly, with a strong focus on biodiversity.
- In this environment trees grow naturally, without artificial irrigation, pesticides and fertilizers.
- BIOPAP® trays do not come from intensive agriculture and don’t use raw materials for food production: they are pollution free and do not affect food prices.
FORESTRY BUDGET GRAPH
(Finland 1879-2013)

The chart shows that sustainably managed forests promote a continuous increase in the forest heritage, despite the increase of tree felling.
BIOPAP® food trays also guarantee easy disposal:
- recycling: 100% recyclable material
- composting: the material disintegrates in the compost and has no negative effect on the biodegradability or quality process of the compost itself.
- incineration
- disposal in landfill site
BIOPAP® trays contribute to the carbon cycle: once used, the compost derived from the tray is used in agriculture and gardens to improve soil and land quality or to replace chemical fertilizers, becoming therefore the basis for new trees. In this way, the cycle is completed.
