BIOPAP® food containers have been confirmed top recyclable according to the latest and more demanding standard issued by Aticelca MC 501:2017. The new methodology has been released at the end of 2017 and is the most recent development in terms of recyclability standards. It will be the base of the future UNI standard. The analysis on BIOPAP® food trays have been performed by the major Italian institution in this field INNOVHUB of Milan. The test reports have awarded the maximum score, the A+ recycling grade to BIOPAP LP and the second best, A recycling grade for BIOPAP® LC. This important result shows once more the extreme care in product design of  BIOPAP food containers also with regard to End of Life waste management. BIOPAP® packaging materials can be perfectly recycled once cleaned from food spills. They are also compostable, showing a perfect example of circular economy.

In the emotional settings of the Triennale Art Exhibition and the famous San Siro football stadium, the catering of the UNESCO’s sport event was served in the new disposable BIOPAP dish. This co-operation wanted to unite sustainability and sport in urban surrounding, promoting ethics and inclusion. The technical features of this latest BIOPAP innovation have been appreciated by the caterer particularly its outstanding stiffness and the heat resistancy. Participants to the event liked the practicality, the natural touch and feel and the sustainable supply chain. The waste collection was extremely simple thanking the compostability of the disposable dish.  It has been a significant occasion for BIOPAP to testify its engagement towards important values such as ethics, social responsibility and care for the environment. The compostable 390 ml round dish is the outcome of a structural and industrial design aiming at supplying a European product, manufactured in Italy with top performances, renewable and really competitive: the ideal choice also for schools and business catering.

Last July 8th at Villa Giraffa in San Rossore (PI) took place the event titled “Le vie dell’essere” (“The Ways of Being”), focused on nutrition, prevention, meditation, positive thinking, psycho-physical well-being and lifestyle.

A dinner, specifically dedicated to the event, with macrobiotic food served in natural, biodegradable and compostable BIOPAP® trays as protagonist, followed the event.
